Road Cycling Oisans

The chalet sits just 13km along the valley from Le Bourg d'Oisans, which is at the bottom of arguably the worlds most famous road cycling climb. During the summer months, the 21 bend climb to Alpe d’Huez is visited by thousands of cycling fans, to match their times against the many Tour de France stage winners. Thanks to our valley floor location, and our proximity to so many famous climbs, our chalet welcomes an interesting mix of road cyclists from all over the world.

Road Cycling in Oisans - The Oisans region consists of a number of beautiful towns and villages, each with their own individual charm and character. Famous cycling routes wind up numerous river valleys through breathtaking scenery, to mountain passes with mythical names such as the Col du Galibier and the Col du Glandon.

Road Cycling Oisans

Most people who visit, come to take on the routes made famous by the Tour de France. However, there are also hundreds of kilometres of lesser known, but frequently even more spectacular roads to explore in our corner of the Alps, which means our guests tend to return time and time again.

Bourg d'Arud/Venosc are a set of beautiful cobbled medieval villages upstream from Le Bourg d’Oisans. Despite a short climb from Bourg, it is an easy ride home at the end of the day. The chalet sits right on the breathtaking ride from Bourg d'Oisans to La Berarde in the Ecrins National Park, which is considered one of the most beautiful in the region and a great recovery ride between longer days.
